Former SOA Star Charlie Hunnam Reveals What Major Movie He Walked Away From

Netflix World Premiere of TRIPLE FRONTIER

In a recent interview Charlie Hunnam opens up about why he walked away from a role in the very popular and funny movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"

According to Charlie, he is good friends with Jason Segal and when Jason wrote the movie he actually wrote the role of Aldous Snow, however when it was getting closer to production, Charlie says that he was in a weird place and had to tell Jason that he couldn't do the role.

“I went in and I did the table read and it was very successful. Judd [Apatow] was producing. I was in a dark night of the soul in my career, at that point, and felt as though I needed to seize the trajectory and that just wasn’t really aligning with, at the period of my life and career, what I wanted to be doing.”

“I had to stand my ground and say, ‘Listen, it’s nothing personal. I’m just following my North Star. I’m just in a weird spot and I’m trying to define for myself what the path forward it.’”

Charlie says he doesn't regretting walking away from the role because clearly it was meant to go to Russell Brand. It's not the only role that Charlie has walked away from, he also had to turn down the role of Christian Grey in "50 Shades of Grey"
