Today's long-lasting debate is whether or not Childish Gambino's hit single "This Is America" took from underground rapper Jase Harley's "American Pharoah".
Jase Harley's song was released last year, and Gambino's single was just released on May 5th.
However, Fam Rothstein from Gambino's camp tweeted: “The internet is a place of no consequences. I hate that Toronto Akademiks/every white blogger can say something as gospel and y’all take it. This song is 3 yrs old, and we have Pro Tools files to prove it.”
Oddly enough, the two do sound similar. Not sure how much of a coincidence this is. Check out the records back to back below:
